Gingivitis
Gingivitis is a mild form of gum disease characterized by inflammation, redness, and easy bleeding of the gums. This condition is often caused by the buildup of dental plaque, a film of bacteria that forms on teeth. Gingivitis is typically reversible with good oral hygiene practices, including regular brushing and flossing. It is important to treat gingivitis promptly to prevent it from progressing to more serious conditions. At Alain Cyr Dental Health Clinic, we conduct thorough examinations to identify gingivitis early and offer tailored treatments, along with personalized advice to maintain good gum health.

Perionsontitis
Periodontitis, an advanced stage of gingivitis, is a serious gum disease that affects the gums and supporting structures of the teeth. Left untreated, it can lead to tooth loss. We take a multidimensional approach to treating periodontitis, tailored to the disease stage and specific patient needs.
Treatment for periodontitis begins with deep cleaning, including scaling and root planing to remove plaque and tartar and smooth the tooth roots. Depending on the severity, local or systemic antibiotics may be used to reduce inflammation and infection. For advanced periodontitis, periodontal surgeries such as pocket reduction or tissue regeneration may be necessary.
